About me

Hello,  having time to reflect on our lives is essential for wellbeing, especially at times of change or stress such as this. I am an experienced therapist offering a calm, comfortable, safe space to explore the things that are causing you emotional pain or struggle.  Making time to sit for a while with our inner world - with our thoughts and feelings - is very important and we rarely give ourselves this valuable space, focusing instead on day to day tasks and external stuff.  Counselling provides such a space to reflect on feelings of stress, turmoil or overwhelm.  We explore the challenges and opportunities that are always there and grow in self-awareness.  After a while things will feel calmer and you will learn new ways to cope with difficult situations or overwhelming emotions.

I support clients dealing with feelings such as anxiety, depression, grief, exhaustion, suicidal thoughts, low self-esteem and compulsive/obsessional behaviour including addictions and self-limiting habits.

Counselling is valuable in gaining a clearer understanding of self and what is really going on in our mind and heart.  With this awareness life becomes easier and our choices make more sense.

I am an experienced Couples Therapist and can support you with your partner through relationship difficulties.

My practice is open to adults over 18 years and welcomes diverse nationalities, ethnicities, beliefs and genders.  I  understand that coming to see someone you have never met can be daunting. With professional knowledge and personal experience I give my best to make the experience a positive one for every client.

I offer new clients a 40 minute consultation to give the opportunity to meet me before deciding if they want to work with me.  Please scroll down for my session fee guide.

Getting started...
The initial consultation lasts approximately 40 minutes and is an opportunity for us to meet with no obligation on you to arrange further sessions. It gives you the chance to see if you would like to work with me and to ask me any questions you have about counselling and for me to make sure i have the appropriate skill level to support you. If you would like a longer appointment on our first meeting this can be arranged and is chargeable pro rata at my standard session rate (see Guide to Fees).

If you don't quite feel ready to make an appointment yet, there are many helpful articles on this site that can help you with what's happening for you at the moment.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

People who have suffered abuse or neglect in childhood can often develop severe anxiety or anger issues in adult life. Symptoms of this can be difficult to live with for their family and close friends. I am happy to see you if you are struggling to live with someone in your family who lives in the aftermath of trauma.
