About me

I work with a varied client base and have worked supporting those dealing with anxiety, depression, bereavement, anger issues, relationship issues, gender identity, sexuality and issues around neurodiversity.

I combine my training at The Tavistock and Portman and The Gestalt Centre along with my experience with postnatal support charity, youth counselling charity and within schools to create a warm and empathic space to support those needing help.

Whilst I welcome all clients I have a particular interest in working with parents and am experienced in working with all aspects of parenthood including decisions and difficulties before conception, during pregnancy and in the postnatal period.  I offer a gentle approach to what I believe to be potentially one of the most difficult transitions a human being can experience. I am also set up to make babies under 12 months old welcome in the room with there mothers if that is preferred.

I am also able to help with navigating your relationship with your school aged child and in communicating with schools and making decisions around education. In addition, I work to support couples as they face the challenges that parenting can bring.

Training, qualifications & experience

I began my training at the Tavistock and Portman and furthered my training and qualifications at The Gestalt Centre. I am a registered member of the BACP.

My work has involved counselling with Cocoon Family Support, working with women suffering with postnatal depression and anxiety. I facilitated their drop in group on a Saturday morning in at MIND in Camden and went on to run my own peer support drop in for new mothers in St Margarets

I also have experience working with adolescents and worked with Off The Record, youth counselling service in Twickenham and more recently at St Catherine's school in Twickenham.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
